First rock concert of 2012: Simple Plan Live in Manila - January 12, 2012

First POP concert of 2012: Katy Perry returns to Manila for her California Dreams Tour 2012 held at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Over 60,000 Katycats packed the grounds for Katy's 2nd major concert in Manila. (January 22, 2012)

In 2012, we saw the opening of another world-class sports and entertainment venue, the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City with a seating capacity of 20,000 for sporting events and 13,000 for concert events. 

The very first event held at the Mall of Asia Arena was Lady Gaga's The Born This Way Ball Tour - 2 sold out concerts back in May 21 & 22, 2012. Almost 22,000 in attendance(11,000 per night) for the said concert.  It is also the most talked-about concert of 2012.

Four best rock festival of 2012(featuring foreign bands): The 2nd installment of LIVseries(LIV5) last February, The 12th annual PULP Summerslam last April, the first ever Smash Project 2012(March) and Bazooka Rocks Festival(September)

The emerging of Sky Dome concerts featuring some of the best rock bands such as The Maine(03.31), Taking Back Sunday(04.13), Secondhand Serenade(05.01), William Beckett, Every Avenue and There For Tomorrow(04.12) and Tonight Alive(09.12)
