The Ataris Live at Megaworld Lifestyle Malls

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls kicks off another exciting year of partying and rocking shows by bringing in American rock band The Ataris for a pair of scintillating live performances.

The band behind the smash hits ‘In This Diary’ and the Don Henley cover ‘The Boys of Summer’ will perform live at the Eastwood Central Plaza, January 19, 4pm and at the Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill on the same day at 8pm as part of its Asian Tour, which included an earlier stop in China along with upcoming shows in Singapore and Bangkok.

Fans of the Anderson, Indiana-based band who will purchase an album of The Ataris at the concert venues will get free concert passes.

Meanwhile, as an early treat to music fans this 2013, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls is giving away VIP passes to the first 50 persons who will be able to present a printout proving they are Facebook fans or Twitter followers of Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill and Eastwood City. They just need to present their printouts to the event marshals at the venue entrance to get their free tickets. 

The band has also recorded a number of full-length records with the studio albums ‘Welcome the Night’and the certified gold-record ‘So Long, Astoria’ garnering major success in the United States. In 2003, the band released their cover of Don Henley’s ‘The Boys of Summer’, which eventually turned out to be one of their greatest, reaching as high as number two in the US alternative music charts and number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Ataris was also behind the hit ‘The Night That the Lights Went Out in NYC’, which was among the official soundtrack of the blockbuster motion picture Spider Man 2.The band has also toured alongside other popular American pop punk bands including MxPx, Homegrown and Blink 182.

Recently, the band has announced the release of their much-awaited upcoming album ‘The Graveyard of the Atlantic’, although the exact date of the release has yet to be finalized.

SABRINA “ACOUSTIC LOVE NOTES” LAUNCH— A SUCCESS!

Asia’s Acoustic Sweetheart SABRINA recently held a successful launch of her latest album “Acoustic Love Notes” at Megaworld Lifestyle Malls last July 13 at Eastwood Mall Open Park, July 14 at Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill and July 15 at Lucky Chinatown Mall. She was joined by special guests- popular radio and TV personality Joe D’Mango and up and coming singer Anj Sulit who are both featured in Sabrina’s album.

Sabrina displayed flair on her spiels and demonstrated how vocally gifted she was throughout the 3 day launch and was backed up by a four-piece band with back-up singers. The 12 song set includes her carrier single “Somewhere Down The Road”; all-time love hits like “The Art of Letting Go”, “Insensitive”, “Cry”, “Officially Missing You” and “One Last Cry” among others as well as her original songs “Sa Bawat Paghinga”, “One True Love”, “Over For Now But Not Forever” and “Again”—her duet with talented singer Anj Sulit. The show was made special by the presence of Mr. Joe D’Mango who, in between songs, gave his love advice on-stage like his famous program “Love Notes”. Though it rained during the first day of the launch at the Eastwood Mall Open Park, fans still trooped and bought albums of Sabrina. She was also able to attract and impressed new fans during her shows at Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill and Lucky Chinatown Mall. MyPhone raffled off brand new Q88 cellphones for album buyers.

Sabrina, whose last album “I Love Acoustic 4” just turned Double Platinum in Indonesia could not be any happier with the turn-out of her album launch.

“No words can express how happy I am for the success of the Acoustic Love Notes 3-part album launch,” Sabrina said.

Her “I Love Acoustic” series albums were also Multi-Platinum and Gold success in countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Only Sabrina and Christian Bautista experienced this amount of success in Asia. “Acoustic Love Notes” is also released in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia and will be released soon in Indonesia and Korea.
